The Role of the Almoner
The Lodge Almoner is expected to
- Be the eyes and ears of the lodge and to identify with their members and their dependants and to keep in touch with those who may be lonely or ill.
- Be able to offer pastoral care and help
- Keep in touch with lodge widows and distant lodge members
- Understand the work and structure of the Essex Provincial Almoners Team and to give their reports to the lodge from the PGA
- Have an understanding of and to promote the Essex Provincial Charity Fund and the Masonic Charity Foundation
- Be aware of how to seek help if any members are in distress
